The Main Parts Of Our Stocktaking Service

Stocktake

As stocktakers for the catering and hospitality industry, we are often asked what we actually do and the stocktaking service we offer. We thought we would take this opportunity to explain the four main parts of our stocktaking services so people can better understand exactly what we do, and how we do it.

1.       Wet Stocktaking

Our wet stocktakers will visit at a day and time that is convenient to you and your business. We will then run an audit service where we carefully count your stock take, measuring and gauging how much wet stock you have on your premises. We will then provide you with an accurate report of the wet stock you have.

However, we won’t just leave you with a sheet of numbers. We will highlight any key findings to you, talk about how performance can be improved. We will also discuss any areas of concern, while agreeing future actions.

2.       Food Stocktaking

For a catering business, food is an essential part of the overall offering. However, food as a revenue stream can be extremely costly. You need to consider the staffing costs, equipment, consumables and energy costs. The profitability of your food is the key to the financial success of your business.

We will work closely with you and your chef to break down the complexity of your catering business. We will then explain the stocktaking reports and how they affect you and the business. This will enable you both to take decisive action to improve profitability. This is an area we can also help you in.

3.       Year End / Period End Valuations

To complete your end of year or end of period accounts, you need an accurate stock valuation. We are able to complete and supply proof of this stock valuation for you. We can even calculate them back to the previous period, meaning you don’t need to complete the audit on the actual date of your year end. If you would prefer we can complete monthly stock valuations too, or supply stock valuations for stock losses in the event of an insurance claim.

4.       Stock Handovers (SAV)

Buying or selling a catering or hospitality business can be extremely stressful. We can be present as the sale goes through to ensure that any stock handover is valued correctly. Having an experienced stocktaker present for the handover means that it is completed correctly, before money is handed over.

If you require our stocktaking services for one or more of the services above then please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
