Today I want to talk to you about card processing costs. It’s one of the costs we can look at in a business. It’s quite complicated, it can be quite time consuming to find all these different people.

One of the biggest mistakes we find is that people don’t sign up for the PCI compliance. So straight away they’re roughly throwing away £10 a month. It’s a typical cost of £9.99 a month.

What is PCI?

It’s the basic data protection that the card processing industry insists on.

You could do this online, it’s a series of questions about how you look after data so that you don’t get the trouble and the bad publicity going down the line where you’ve had a data breach when people have stolen your customers details.

So I urge you that if you haven’t filled in PCI forms, please do it.

If you look at your monthly bill from your card processing company, you will see it will be there, it will be a non compliance cost. Usually the one I see is £9.99. I have heard it is higher.
